Sarah Voelkel

Employment and Education Director

Sarah grew up in Houston Texas and moved to Brazoria County in 2017 as an answer to God calling her to start a new life. Sarah now lives with her husband James and her 4 children. Sarah served 2 years in the United States Marine Corps. Sarah was a hair stylist for 15 years prior to coming to us here at the Warrior’s Refuge. Shortly after moving to Brazoria County Sarah also answered a call to ministry serving in various roles as a women’s mentor, small group leader and video blogger. Sarah started her journey with the Warrior’s Refuge in January 2021 in the Warrior Empowerment Department. Sarah helped build the Warrior Empowerment Department from the ground up serving as the Assistant Director. She currently serves as the Director of Warrior Empowerment, where she not only works diligently to get our veterans to work, but she is also a certified financial education instructor, where she teaches our veterans sound financial management. She is currently working on a degree in Business Management. Sarah has a close walk with Christ and puts Christ first in everything she does and that is constantly reflected in her service to our veterans.
